T's & C's Do Apply!

So my discovery of this month has to be Tits & Clits...That sounds too weird. All sexual innuendo aside, if you want to hear music that will keep you dancing till you collapse, then it is Tits & Clits.  These two Hungarians are busting out some serious party starters and I guarantee that they won't disappoint. Other than that, I have added in some other tracks that have been frequenting my playlists as well.

B-Roc Of The Knocks - There's Something About Us Under The Sheets (Ellie Goulding vs. Daft Punk)

The track above is a standalone because it is the only song in this post that is downtempo but you cannot go wrong with the funky beats of Daft Punk and the mesmerising voice of Ellie Goulding. Trust me on this one.

PNAU - Embrace Ft. Ladyhawke (Tits & Clits Remix)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll (Digiraatii Dance Till You're Dead Remix)
Parov Stellar - Booty Swing (Tits & Clits Remix)
Mord Fustang - Lick The Rainbow
Lucrecia Protellor - Transylvanian Emperor (Tits & Clits Remix)

Okay people. Listen to all these ones above because they are really good. My next post will be on dub (without the step). For now listen to Radikal Guru for an idea of what's to come.

Plain And Simple But Oh So Brilliant!

I first heard of Ratatat when I listened to Kid Cudi's Pursuit Of Happiness. The song featured the instrumental genious of this electronic duo and since then, I cannot stop listening to their tracks. It's not everyone's cup of tea but if you give it time, like a fine wine, it will grow on you.*
*Your experience may differ. T & C's apply.

Ratatat - Drugs
Ratatat - Loud Pipes
Ratatat - Seventeen Years
Ratatat - Lex

My next post will be another list of bangers I have collected over these last few weeks. Should be good one!

And It All Ended With A Big Bang!

Good day people. Over the weekend I made this little list of recently discovered songs that I currently enjoy listening to. Ghostland Observatory is definitely a band worth looking up. They are a combination of indie, funk and dance.

Flying Lotus - Massage Situation
Ghostland Observatory - Give Me The Beat
Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars
Afrojack - Take Over Control (Adam F Dubstep Remix)
Nancy Sinatra - Bang Bang (White Noise Dubstep Remix)

Nancy Sinatra's Bang Bang remix is an unexpected banger. The first time I heard it I was pleasantly surprised at how good a remix it is and you will too.  Anyway, hope you all enjoyed this little list.

Bring Soul Back!

First of all, all of you have to at least know two songs out of this list. Listed are some of my favorite soul songs that I like to listen to. If you need an absolute "pick-me-up" though, Sly And The Family Stone is epic. It has to be one of my favorite songs ever. This post is quite a deviation from my usual posts but I've been listening to a lot of 60's and 70's music lately and that's how this list came about. Hope you all enjoy!

Sly And The Family Stone - Everyday People
Sam Cooke - Wonderful World
Otis Redding - Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay

Bill Withers was quite a soul maestro. Other than the two famous songs listed below, he also sang "Ain't No Sunshine" and although it's a great song, I figured it would be a downer on a list that's pretty happy clappy. Enjoy singing along to Lean On Me. If anyone is a fan of Anchorman starring Will Ferrel, Use Me is played in the background at a pool party in the movie. That was an absolute useless fact that you will never use. You're welcome!

Bill Withers - Lean On Me
Bill Withers - Use Me

Finally, if you've seen Tarantino's Death Proof, then you'll know this song. And if you don't, well it's listed below so click on it and start learning.

The Coasters - Down In Mexico

Have You Seen The Light?

Pretty Lights remind me of a mix of RJD2 and Thievery Corporation. He tends to blur the lines between genres quite effortlessly whilst still remaining original. Pretty Lights's music forms a combination of "glitchy hip-hop beats, buzzing synth lines, vintage funk, soul samples, and sometimes grime." Just relax and listen to some great sampling. I'm absolutely hooked!!

Pretty Lights - Still Night
Pretty Lights - Hot Like Sauce
Pretty Lights - Looking For Love (But Not So Sure)
Pretty Lights - I Can See It In Your Face
Pretty Lights - Something's Wrong

The next song is pretty long but brilliant. If you enjoy it enough and can make it to minute number six, you will enjoy a great little sample.

Pretty Lights - High School Art Class

Pretty Lights also does some brilliant mash-ups but that's for another time. Childish Gambino and Hoodie Allen up next, I promise...

Day vs. Night

I've come across quite a bit of new music recently and thought it be a good idea to start sifting through them for all the goodies. The list of songs below are some of these songs that stuck with me. I have divided the list into day and night, day being more chilled dance whilst the night songs are the 4am songs that ends your night.

DAY

Pretty Lights - Finally Moving

Au Revoir Simone - Another Likely Story (Aeroplane Remix)

Au Revoir Simone - Tell Me (Clock Opera Remix)

Robortom - Paganini Rocks Ft. Au Revoir Simone
Marina And The Diamonds - I Am Not A Robot (Clock Opera Remix)

As you might have noticed, I've discovered Au Revoir Simone and Clock Opera. Brilliant!! I dunno if the next song should be at  then end of the "day" list or the start of the "night" list or if it even belongs in this post but I enjoy it and it's not often The Bee Gees will make it into a post so I had to take the opportunity.

Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive (Teddybears Remix)

NIGHT

Chromeo - Tenderoni (MSTRKRFT Remix)
Don Diablo - Animale Ft. Dragonette (Datsik Dubstep Remix)
Rusko - Everyday (Netsky Remix)

My next post will be on Childish Gambino and Hoodie Allen!

The XX

So if you hear of The XX, you immediately realise that it doesn't take sophisticated production to make great tracks. They have such a simple formula yet it seems to work perfectly. It's no wonder that pretty much their whole debut album is being remixed by artists left, right and center. I have included the original along with some solid remixes and covers by various artists.

The XX - Crystalized
The XX - Crystalized (Gorrilaz Cover) (JThunder Mix)

The XX - VCR
The XX - VCR (Matthew Dear Remix)

The XX - Stars
The XX - Stars (LAZRtag Remix)

The XX have also done covers of Womack & Womack and Florence And The Machine which are incredible. Both of these tracks are relatively known but I think they are brilliant covers and deserve a mention.

The XX - Teardrop
Florence And The Machine - You Got The Love (The XX Remix)
