Put Your Hands Up 'Indie' Air

So I thought it would be a good idea to put up a short list of some of the indie songs that I have enjoyed over this summer. Most of these songs are relatively new but there are some classics in there that I just can't stop listening to.

Little Red - Rock It
Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Home

The three songs have very catchy hooks i.e. the choruses of Rock It and Sprawl II will stay in your head for days and the whistling in Home will annoy all your friends as you whistle away.

Aeroplane vs Friendly Fires vs Flight Facilities - I Crave Paris
I Blame Coco - Selfmachine (LaRoux Remix)

Sting ("Every breath you take...") was quite the player back in the day and may have many many kids we or even he doesn't know about. Luckily however, we know of one of his daughters, Eliot Paulina Sumner. She is the lead singer of I Blame Coco and if you get La Roux to remix one of your songs then you must be doing something right.

LCD Soundsystem - Dance Yrself Clean

LCD Soundsystem have announced that they are retiring after playing their final show at Madison Square Gardens in New York on 2 April. The song above was their last major single and is an excellent way to exit the game. Turn the volume up high for Dance Yrself Clean and wait. Just be patient.

The Naked And Famous - Punching In A Dream
The Naked And Famous - Young Blood

This New-Zealand group have taken over the blogosphere with their first studio album Passive Me, Aggressive You. Their first single Young Blood will get any party started and I defy any person who does not go full retard whilst listening to Punching In A Dream.

Yeasayer - Ambling Alp
Yeasayer - O.N.E.

Once again two songs from one artist. Am I lazy? No. Yeasayer was the most blogged artist of 2010 and with reason. Their album Odd Blood produced these two gems. You're welcome!

Chiddy Bang - Opposite Of Adults
Theophilus London - Humdrum Town

Chiddy Bang's single has the sample from MGMT's Kids in the background hence the name of the song, Opposite Of Adults. Get it?
